There is a concern that a preservative 'thimerosol' that is used in the Swine flu vaccine can be potentially harmful, however scientists and doctors have claimed that research has shown that this preservative through trial has not shown any evidence of harm.

I would think that a bigger concern is the shortage of the availability of the vaccine. The US had initially projected that 120 million doses of the vaccine will be availiable by October, but recent reports have stated that only 45 million doses will actually be available. That is the primary reason they are urging pregnant women and children, who they consider a priority group, to get the vaccines at the earliest.

Well, since the pregnant woman are in the high risk group they have two option: Take the vaccine (I have no idea if it's safe) or stay inside and avoid crowded places. Hand sanitizer in the front door to whoever live with you and visitors is a must. In Brazil mostly deaths were pregnant woman... and it's twice sad because the mother & baby dies.
